On 2 April 2026, a delegation of about 40 people led by Mr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Vice President of Investment Solutions of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and Mr. Hun Kim, Chief Partnerships Officer, visited Sinopec Green Energy’s project in Xi’an, Shaanxi, which replaces gas heating with geothermal energy and supports centralized extraction and reinjection in the Guanzhong Basin. Ms. Zhao Xin, SGE’s board member and CFO, joined the visit.

The delegation learned about SGE’s geothermal history, watched videos on geothermal development technology, and held in-depth discussions on exploration, drilling and reinjection with on-site staff. The delegation highly praised the company’s achievements in geothermal development, technological upgrading, low-carbon transition and contribution to the “dual carbon” goals.

AIIB is a regional multilateral development bank initiated by China, focusing on infrastructure and regional connectivity. The visit reflected international recognition of the company’s geothermal clean energy projects.
