November 2015, the "Geothermal Energy Scientific Research Experimental Demonstration Base" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was inaugurated and a symposium on the scientific development and utilization of geothermal energy in the Guanzhong Basin was held in Xianyang. The "Geothermal Energy Research and Experimentation Demonstration Base" was jointly established by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Sinopec Green Source Geothermal Energy Development Co.

May 2012, Sinopec's petroleum engineering system to improve grassroots management promotion meeting was held in Beijing. SGE'S single geothermal well output set a new record for petroleum engineering of Sinopec Group Corporation in 2011.
