On August 29, Mr. Fan Chuanhong, General Manager of Sinopec Star, inspected SGE in Xiong’an New Area. During the visit, Mr. Fan listened to SGE’s work reports and held discussions with SGE’s leadership.
After hearing reports on SGE’s overall profile, major achievements, first-half 2025 business performance, and the framework of the “15th Five-Year Plan,” Mr. Fan highly recognized the company’s accomplishments in market expansion, project development, production, and operations.
Mr. Fan emphasized that, as the backbone of Sinopec Star’s geothermal business, SGE must stay focused on high-quality development, continuously consolidate its “industry-leading” position, and make consistent progress in market development, implementation of major projects, and accounts receivable management, so as to ensure the successful delivery of annual targets.
Mr. Fan required that SGE shall remain market-oriented, fully implement the philosophy of being “customer-centered” and “resource-secured,” seize high-quality resources, and expand the geothermal waste heat market, exercise strict control over preliminary project assessments, and carefully choose and prioritize new projects, adhere to scientific and integrated management of the entire project life cycle, focus on tackling major projects, enhance the “six-dimension” standards of project management, and ensure the full completion of capacity-building tasks. Mr. Fan also urged SGE to focus on three key challenges—enhancing the quality of existing assets, addressing losses, and refining operations. He called for stronger efforts in optimization and upgrading to improve efficiency from existing projects, reinforced bottom-line thinking to proactively guard against risks, and comprehensive measures to ensure: zero blind spots in safe development, a full-chain approach to green development, seamless stability in operations, and thorough implementation of clean governance.
Mr. Fan further stressed the importance of maintaining confidence and determination. He urged SGE to stay focused on target goals, rise to challenges, and press ahead with efforts to guarantee the full accomplishment of annual targets, laying a solid foundation for a good start to the “15th Five-Year Plan” and contributing greater strength to Sinopec Star’s high-quality development in the new energy industries of geothermal, hydrogen, wind, and solar.
The Deputy Chief Economist and Deputy Chief Geologist of Sinopec Star, along with the heads of relevant department attended the meeting.
